From The Ashes Book Review

Calista is a transport pilot contracted to deliver a crate from Agraria to Libertinus, a pleasure planet. Her curiosity was ramped up when her probes showed a shielding device in the crate that gave an incorrect reading of what was inside the crate.

Nothing else would do, once she was off-planet, except to open the crate. All the crate contained was an egg. Imagine it cracking and a baby appearing that within moments was a full-grown man! A man whose entire race were slaves, who upon death could be resurrected by fire.

Upon being hatched, Asher creates a mental link with Calista and then completes that bond. Calista can't bear the thought of him being a slave for eternity; so, she decides to take matters into her own hands.
Red Sage Publishing is the publisher and Maree Anderson is the author of From The Ashes.
I enjoyed this book as it consists of adventure, romance, and good against evil. This was a book I'd love to read a sequel to or even a prequel.
